Iolani Palace Neon Sign
This one and only neon sign is 15x11 inches, have a on and off switch and will glow Red in color. The Iolani Palace, the only official Palace in the United States built by King David Kalakaua in 1882 and served as the place of residence and business for Hawaiian Royalty till the overthrow of the Monarchy in 1893.
It serves as the quintessential cultural landmark and a must see tourist attraction for Hawai’i visitors but to some it means so much more, something that can never be replaced. The Iolani Palace and its artifacts are in dire need of repair and restoration as well as maintenance to the grounds and it’s structures and they don’t have much funding and resources to do so, the recent epidemic hasn’t made things any easier as the amount of visitors have become fewer and forced to social distance (6ft apart ) having resulted in less visitors per tour and altering the hours and days of operation.
What you see in the picture is a neon sign of the Palace which we designed to say “Iolani Palace is open for business” like neon signs often advertise for any businesses that use them, it captures your attention and can sometimes be very visually pleasing. This piece is extremely limited to this one moment in history to help raise awareness and to help by donating a portion of the proceeds to help with the restoration efforts.
